I've had a lot of solicitors lately who didn't notice my little door knob sign...so I made a bigger one :) They'll be available at our store Guacs for $20 in your choice of color.

Something Blue
My latest piece: my sister-in-law recently got hitched on the beautiful Riviera Maya in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The beach side nuptials were absolutely gorgeous. To help celebrate her union to her wonderful new hubby, I made her a piece that could be worn both with her gown and later. The original design is from the book Bead on a Wire by Sharilyn Miller. Instead of pearls, I used sea glass beads in shades of blue and green. What makes this design special is that the longer necklace comes apart to create a choker and anklet that can be worn under the gown. The heart shaped links are super sweet and the clasps are handmade. I even decoupaged a little craft store treasure chest to keep it in, using images from the February 2011 issue of Better Homes and Gardens. Enjoy the pics :)

New Bauble
Got a new creation to reveal! I call it my bubble bauble. It's a fun necklace for spring based on one that I saw at a store. I thought, "Hey I can make that!" and well, I did! (With a couple of changes.) Mine is adjustable via sliding knots at the back and will be available in olive, navy, turquoise, and mint! Maybe brown too. It's a good sturdy necklace too for those of you with kiddos who like to tug! I'm thinking about using the same technique to make a teething necklace using unfinished wood beads and hemp chord. Is that something anyone would be interested in? It would be for mom to wear and baby could munch when being held. I'd love your feedback!
PS Don't forget about our giveaway. We've had a total of ONE new like on our facebook page. There's also a coupon code available only to our facebook fans. Come on over and check it out!

Here I am!
Well, here I am! I have officially entered the blogosphere! I'm here mostly to promote my business, Guac's: The Guacamolians Guatemalan and Homemade Handicrafts. I know, tongue twister! Just Guac's for short. There will be other interesting tidbits as well. Maybe some tutorials, or just random thoughts about life. Who knows, we'll see where this takes me! To start, and to celebrate the complete listing of all of our stock over the last few days which turned out to be quite a job-over 250 listings completed including photos, we are going to have a GIVEAWAY! That's right, I said it. But you do have to work a little bit. We currently have 37 people who like our facebook page. As soon as we get to 60, we will give away a set of wine glass markers. When we get to 80, we'll give away one of our 12x55 inch scarves. At 130 there will be a water bottle holder and then a beaded butterfly at 180. When we hit 250, we'll send someone a small tote and at 300, a hand made picture bracelet with up to 5 of your own photos. The winners will be randomly drawn from all of our followers. Check out what you can win at www.guacs.storenvy.com then go to our face book page that links on the left of the store, and share, share, share!
